Refresher Dives

At the The Dive Bus, we try hard to make sure that diving with us is fun but above all, safe. So if you haven’t dived in the last 18 months or more, or haven't had the chance to dive much since your certification, you'll need to take a Refresher course.

This policy is for your comfort, safety and peace of mind, as well as that of your fellow divers and The Dive Bus professional staff. It’s also for the protection of the reef, as serious amounts of damage can be inflicted on the corals (and yourself) through bad buoyancy and diver error.

Choose from the following courses, both run from The Dive Bus Hut :

1. Quick Refresher (<18 months since last dive)

The Refresher course is very similar to the Discover Scuba Diving class. It takes around 3 hours and includes:

• a review of safety, equipment, set up and skills
• skills practice in confined (shallow) water to increase your confidence, comfort and skill levels
• a guided open water dive on the lovely Pierbaai Reef

Price is fully inclusive of equipment, tanks, Instructor and sales tax.

2. Full Refresher (2 years >)

If you've been out of the water more than a couple of years, you'll need to take the following in addition to the Quick Refresher course:

• Scuba Review: an overview of the most important aspects of dive theory.
• Skill circuit: the chance to practise your diving skills again.
• Recreational Dive Planner Review: most people forget how to use the dive tables after just a few months of inactivity so if you've not been diving in a couple of years, chances are you'll have forgotten a lot about how those table-things work. The RDP is an incredibly important tool to ensure your dives are safe and that you are comfortable planning your own dives again.
