The PADI eLearning Program: Online Scuba Courses

What is it and what's the point?

Learning to scuba dive - or advancing your scuba skills - requires both knowledge development (facts, principles, concepts) and motor procedures (skills, techniques, methods).

The PADI eLearning programs enable you to master the necessary knowledge development online, in your own time.  So if you’re looking for a flexible way to fit a scuba certification into your busy schedule or if you just prefer web based learning, then PADI’s eLearning program of online scuba courses is the way to go.

And your Dive Bus PADI Instructor will work with you to master your motor procedures (diving skills) here in Curacao in the clear, blue Caribbean ocean.

So in summary, PADI eLearning enables you to learn at your own pace, when and where you like, and frees up your valuable vacation time to dive, dive, DIVE in Curacao: one of the top dive locations in the Caribbean.

To date, over 20,000 people have successfully completed a PADI eLearning course.

How does eLearning work?

The PADI online eLearning system is a set of interactive presentations including videos, audio, photos and videos, with short quizzes to help you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen  to miss. You to move through the program efficiently, confidently and at your own pace.

One of the Dive Bus instructors will be monitoring your progress throughout this online part of the PADI Open

Water course so if you have any questions along the way, just post them and we'll answer them. It's the next best thing to being face-to-face.

What does it cost?

You'll be prompted to enter your credit card details for whichever PADI eLearning course you sign up for. The fee varies by course and is payable direct to PADI - click on the course you're interested in on the table to the right, for more info.

The fee covers your knowledge development training and gives you unlimited acess to an electronic version of the revelevant course Manual (course textbook). You'll be able to buy your own hardcopies when you reach The Dive Bus, if you like (totally optional).

What about dive equipment and teaching materials?

All the dive equipment you need will be provided by The Dive Bus and included in the price of the course. PADI strongly recommends that you purchase your own mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuit as a minimum which are all available to buy at The Dive Bus and as Dive Bus students, you'll get up to 20% discount :o) Plus you have the opportunity to try out different types of equipment to see what suits you best, during your course.

It's up to you if you'd like to purchase printed copies of your teaching materials - again, all availble from The Dive Bus.
